Joud Health wants you to understand how we use and protect your personal data.

This policy explains how we do that in connection with our website, our app, our at-home blood tests, our meal plans and deliveries, and any other way you interact with us.

We keep this policy under review and may update it. Please check back for the most recent version.

It is important that the information we hold about you is accurate and current. Please tell us if anything changes.

1. Who we are

We are Linas Deli Restaurant Company L.L.C., trading as Joud Health — a limited liability company registered in the State of Kuwait, at Tunis Street, Hawally, Kuwait.

We are the controller of your personal data, which means we are responsible for deciding how it is used.

If our business is restructured, or if we transfer the Joud Health service to an affiliated or successor company, that company may become the controller of your data on the same terms. We will tell you before that happens.

To contact us about anything in this policy, email help@joudhealth.com.

2. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to you if you are:

It does not cover the practices of third parties we do not control, or data collected when you apply for a job with us.

3. What data we collect

FeedbackAny feedback, reviews, or survey answers you give us.

Sensitive data

Your health data — questionnaire answers, biomarker results, your JOUD Score, and declared allergens — is sensitive personal data. We only process it with your consent, and only to provide the service. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing help@joudhealth.com, though we will not be able to continue providing the service without it.

Data about children

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Our service is for adults only. If you are under 18, please do not register or send us any personal data. If we learn that we hold data about someone under 18, we will delete it as quickly as we can. If you believe a child has given us their data, email help@joudhealth.com.

Anonymous data

We may create aggregated and anonymised data from the data we collect — for example, how popular a meal is across all members, or how scores are distributed. Once data is anonymised it can no longer identify you, we do not attempt to re-identify it, and we may keep and use it indefinitely to improve our service.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your health data with advertisers. We do not use your data to make automated decisions that have a legal effect on you.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website and app use only the cookies and local storage needed to make them work — keeping you signed in, remembering your preferences and language, keeping your session secure, and letting us diagnose faults.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not permit third parties to place tracking or advertising technologies on our website or app.

If that changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

6. Marketing, and how to stop it

We will only send you marketing if you have opted in.

You can opt out at any time — click unsubscribe in any marketing email, change your notification settings in the app, or email help@joudhealth.com.

Opting out of marketing does not stop service messages, which we need to send you: order and delivery updates, renewal reminders, payment problems, changes to your plan, and changes to our terms.

7. Who we share your data with

We share your data only with parties who need it, and only for the purposes in this policy.

Service providers acting on our instructions

We require all of these providers to keep your data secure, to use it only for the purposes we instruct, and never for their own purposes.

Named partners you interact with directly

We may also share your data

8. Where your data is processed

Some of our service providers process data outside Kuwait, including in the United States and Europe. By using our service, and where required by giving us your consent, you agree to your personal data — including your health data — being transferred and processed outside Kuwait for the purposes in this policy.

Ask Joud in particular. Ask Joud is powered by a generative AI provider based in the United States. When you use it, your message and the parts of your profile relevant to answering you are sent to that provider so a reply can be generated. Under our agreement with them, your data is not used to train their AI models and is deleted from their systems within 30 days. Ask Joud is optional — everything else in the app works without it, and if you prefer not to have your data processed this way, simply do not use it.

Wherever your data is processed, we require the same standard of protection as this policy sets out.

9. How we keep your data secure

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect your data — including encryption in transit, access controls so that each member's data can only be reached by that member, and limiting internal access to staff who need it.

No method of transmitting or storing data is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You can help by choosing a strong sign-in method and keeping access to your device and email account protected.

We have procedures for handling a suspected data breach, and we will notify you and the competent authority where the law requires it.

10. How long we keep your data

We keep your data only as long as we need it.

DataHow long
Account and contact dataWhile your account is open, and for 2 years after you close it
Health data, test results, and JOUD Score historyWhile your account is open, and for 5 years after you close it, so your history remains available and we can meet our legal obligations
Order, payment, and delivery records5 years, to meet Kuwaiti tax and accounting requirements
Support conversations2 years from your last contact
Ask Joud conversations12 months, unless you delete them sooner
Marketing preferencesUntil you opt out, and a record of your opt-out afterwards so we respect it
Anonymised dataIndefinitely — it can no longer identify you

We may keep data longer if there is a complaint or a realistic prospect of a dispute.

11. Your rights

You have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email help@joudhealth.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity first, so that we do not disclose your data to someone else.

Exercising your rights is free.

12. Contact us

Email help@joudhealth.com for anything about your data, or help@joudhealth.com for anything else.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a material change — for example, if we start using your data for a new purpose — we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
