Joud Health
Effective 12 August 2026 · Archived versions
Joud Health wants you to understand how we use and protect your personal data.
This policy explains how we do that in connection with our website, our app, our at-home blood tests, our meal plans and deliveries, and any other way you interact with us.
We keep this policy under review and may update it. Please check back for the most recent version.
It is important that the information we hold about you is accurate and current. Please tell us if anything changes.
We are Linas Deli Restaurant Company L.L.C., trading as Joud Health — a limited liability company registered in the State of Kuwait, at Tunis Street, Hawally, Kuwait.
We are the controller of your personal data, which means we are responsible for deciding how it is used.
If our business is restructured, or if we transfer the Joud Health service to an affiliated or successor company, that company may become the controller of your data on the same terms. We will tell you before that happens.
To contact us about anything in this policy, email help@joudhealth.com.
This policy applies to you if you are:
It does not cover the practices of third parties we do not control, or data collected when you apply for a job with us.
Personal data is any information from which you can be identified.
| Type of data | What it includes |
|---|---|
| Contact data | First and last name, delivery address, email address, phone number. You give us this when you register or place an order. |
| Account data | Your login and authentication data, what you have bought, your preferences and settings. |
| Health and lifestyle data | What you tell us in the health questionnaire — including age, height, weight, activity, existing health conditions, medication, pregnancy, and your health goals. |
| Dietary data | Your dietary preferences and the allergens you declare. |
| Test data | Biomarker results the laboratory sends us after analysing your blood sample. We never receive or hold the physical sample — only the results. |
| JOUD Score | The health score we calculate for you from your test data and questionnaire answers, and its history over time. |
| Meal data | Your meal selections, swaps, skipped days, and whether you marked a meal as eaten. |
| Ask Joud data | The messages you send to our AI assistant, and its replies. |
| Payment data | Handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number — only the last digits and the outcome of the payment. |
| Device and technical data | IP address, device type and model, operating system, app version, and similar technical information, collected automatically when you use the app or website. |
| Location data | Your delivery address, and the map coordinates for it, so that we can deliver to the right place. We do not monitor your location in the background. |
| Support data | Your messages to our support team and our replies, including anything about your health that you choose to tell us. |
| Feedback | Any feedback, reviews, or survey answers you give us. |
Your health data — questionnaire answers, biomarker results, your JOUD Score, and declared allergens — is sensitive personal data. We only process it with your consent, and only to provide the service. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing help@joudhealth.com, though we will not be able to continue providing the service without it.
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Our service is for adults only. If you are under 18, please do not register or send us any personal data. If we learn that we hold data about someone under 18, we will delete it as quickly as we can. If you believe a child has given us their data, email help@joudhealth.com.
We may create aggregated and anonymised data from the data we collect — for example, how popular a meal is across all members, or how scores are distributed. Once data is anonymised it can no longer identify you, we do not attempt to re-identify it, and we may keep and use it indefinitely to improve our service.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your health data with advertisers. We do not use your data to make automated decisions that have a legal effect on you.
Our website and app use only the cookies and local storage needed to make them work — keeping you signed in, remembering your preferences and language, keeping your session secure, and letting us diagnose faults.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not permit third parties to place tracking or advertising technologies on our website or app.
If that changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
We will only send you marketing if you have opted in.
You can opt out at any time — click unsubscribe in any marketing email, change your notification settings in the app, or email help@joudhealth.com.
Opting out of marketing does not stop service messages, which we need to send you: order and delivery updates, renewal reminders, payment problems, changes to your plan, and changes to our terms.
We share your data only with parties who need it, and only for the purposes in this policy.
We require all of these providers to keep your data secure, to use it only for the purposes we instruct, and never for their own purposes.
Some of our service providers process data outside Kuwait, including in the United States and Europe. By using our service, and where required by giving us your consent, you agree to your personal data — including your health data — being transferred and processed outside Kuwait for the purposes in this policy.
Ask Joud in particular. Ask Joud is powered by a generative AI provider based in the United States. When you use it, your message and the parts of your profile relevant to answering you are sent to that provider so a reply can be generated. Under our agreement with them, your data is not used to train their AI models and is deleted from their systems within 30 days. Ask Joud is optional — everything else in the app works without it, and if you prefer not to have your data processed this way, simply do not use it.
Wherever your data is processed, we require the same standard of protection as this policy sets out.
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect your data — including encryption in transit, access controls so that each member's data can only be reached by that member, and limiting internal access to staff who need it.
No method of transmitting or storing data is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You can help by choosing a strong sign-in method and keeping access to your device and email account protected.
We have procedures for handling a suspected data breach, and we will notify you and the competent authority where the law requires it.
We keep your data only as long as we need it.
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Account and contact data | While your account is open, and for 2 years after you close it |
| Health data, test results, and JOUD Score history | While your account is open, and for 5 years after you close it, so your history remains available and we can meet our legal obligations |
| Order, payment, and delivery records | 5 years, to meet Kuwaiti tax and accounting requirements |
| Support conversations | 2 years from your last contact |
| Ask Joud conversations | 12 months, unless you delete them sooner |
| Marketing preferences | Until you opt out, and a record of your opt-out afterwards so we respect it |
| Anonymised data | Indefinitely — it can no longer identify you |
We may keep data longer if there is a complaint or a realistic prospect of a dispute.
You have the right to:
To exercise any of these, email help@joudhealth.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity first, so that we do not disclose your data to someone else.
Exercising your rights is free.
Email help@joudhealth.com for anything about your data, or help@joudhealth.com for anything else.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a material change — for example, if we start using your data for a new purpose — we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
